Our Conservation Journey

At the heart of our mission is Gavin Robinson, a dedicated wildlife management specialist with over 40 years of hands-on experience across Africa. Gavin has led major conservancy operations in Zimbabwe and provided expert consultation to projects throughout the continent—including in the East African Islands.

His work focuses on the conservation of Southern African species, with a particular emphasis on endangered wildlife. Through strategic translocation and habitat management, Gavin has played a vital role in securing safer environments for the Big Five and other threatened animals.

Today, Gavin serves as a crocodile specialist and continues to consult on diverse wildlife initiatives. One of his leading projects involves the Baobab rhino herd in South Africa's Limpopo Valley, where he is working to protect 30 rhinos through:

  • Safe capture and translocation

·  Humane horn removal to deter poaching

  • Deployment of tracking collars to monitor and safeguard populations

Gavin’s approach is deeply rooted in practical fieldwork, driven by a lifelong commitment to protecting Africa’s wildlife. Our conservancy is built on this foundation of experience, passion, and proactive care.

Hence, our launch of RhinoXpedition Africa—an opportunity to get you involved in this immersive, hands-on experience that brings you face-to-face with real conservation work.
